The all new Camry has been revealed back in January, and it is slated to go on sale in the upcoming months. The car has been vastly upgraded over its predecessor not only in terms of styling but also technology. With it, they also released the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE, the sports version of the car. This includes quite a few exterior and interior upgrades alongside a few changes to its running gear. Unlike its predecessor, the new model is far more impressive to look at. 2018 Toyota Camry XSE Price and Range Topping Model

While the sports versions of its rivals are usually mid-range models, the XSE is one of the range-topping trim levels. This means it comes with pretty much all one would ever want from a car. It not only boasts the latest features inside but it also brings a lot of exterior upgrades which definitely set it apart from the rest. The price hasn’t been revealed for now, but considering the car’s past, it is safe to assume the XSE will cost north of $33,000 which makes it one of the more expensive cars in its class.

Running Gear

Just like before, the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE gets a completely revised suspension system. The car gets TRD tweaked shocks provided by Bilstein as well as slightly lower springs than the regular model. The brakes aren’t the same either. These use slightly thicker and larger rotors in the front which should be able to withstand heat much better than the regular model. These alone should be well worth the upgrade over the usual car. However, the XSE gets things a little further with standard 19-inch lightweight rims wrapped in high-performance summer tires.

Design

The car changed tremendously from the previous generation which is quite interesting to see. This time around the Camry gets a coupe-like roof-line which is very impressive to look at. The rear window has a really aggressive angle while the short trunk lid gets things a little further. Over the regular model, the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE gets new front and rear bumpers. These include a small splitter in the front as well as a subtle diffuser. The front bumper boasts a much more aggressive design than on the regular model which might be a bit much for some. Even so, the car’s overall look is fitting, and it definitely stands out in its class. Over the other models, the XSE also gets as standard a quad-exhaust system and a black roof which further accentuates its aggressiveness.

Inside the Cabin

The interior of the car has been vastly improved over that of its predecessor. The new Camry offers more passenger space as well as considerably more kit than before. The driving position is also quite a bit lower while the car’s width makes it easier for three people to fit in the back. The dashboard departs from the design of its predecessor. The car gets a dashboard aimed towards the driver with far less buttons than before. There is a new infotainment system, a brand new steering wheel as well as much nicer materials. In fact, the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE comes with leather upholstery as well as a leather-padded dashboard which is unique in its class.

2018 Toyota Camry XSE Engine

So far it seems the XSE trim level will only be available with the higher end engines. This means it will boast a 3.5 liter naturally aspirated direct injected V6 gas powertrain. Even though the output hasn’t been revealed, for now, it seems that in the XSE the engine will make 300 horsepower and likely over 260 lb-ft of torque. All the power is going to be sent to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic. This should be enough to get the car to 60 MPH in less than 5.5 seconds and up to a limited top speed close to 140 MPH. Like before, the XSE is more than likely going to receive paddle shifters which will allow the driver a finer control of the engine’s RPM.
