2017 Audi Q5 Review

Published on June 2, 2016

On the market since 2008, the Q5 is one of Audi’s oldest models still on the market and in desperate need of an update. While many thought that they would release a new car by 2015, it seems that the upcoming 2017 Audi Q5 will be the new model everyone was waiting for. The rather large delay is because Audi wanted their best selling cars to receive their all new MLB Evo platform which made the Q5 be the third one in line. This is a very good time for those looking at premium crossovers because Audi will most likely drop the prices of the current generation quite soon in order to make room for the new version which is due for release by the end of the year.

Summary

One of the saddest parts for the upcoming 2017 Audi Q5 is that on the US market it will likely not be available with a diesel engine due to all the problems the VW group had with the recent emissions scandal. However, it will come with a much better 2 liter turbocharged engine with as much as 252 horsepower and over 270 lb-ft of torque. Both the Q5 S and the RS models are going to get a newly developed 3 liter twin-turbocharged V6 with outputs ranging from 350 all the way up to nearly 500 horsepower.
