2018 Nissan Frontier Release date and Price

Is it Frontier or is it Navara? Or is it perhaps NP300? These questions were always puzzling and caused so many debates. However, all of these names are correct and they all refer to the same vehicle. The successor of the D21 series is sold under the name of Nissan Navara in Asia, Australia, and Europe, in Mexico is known as NP300 while North Americans call it Frontier. It was originally launched in 1997 and comes as either two-door or four-door truck. Three generations have been unveiled so far and the 2018 Nissan Frontier is coming to the market as the member of the latest, the third generation. There is still a lack of information about this truck but this is what we know so far.

2018 Nissan Frontier Review

The third generation debuted in June 2014 and there are two other vehicles which use the same platform, Renault Alaskan, and Mercedes-Benz X-Class. In 2001 Frontier got a minor facelift and it is expected that the 2018 model will get refreshment as well. Most of the speculations are focused on the powertrain. This means there is a high chance Frontier will get new engine options. It is very likely the pickup is also getting design modifications. Nissan lends an ear to their customers and tried to meet their demands.

Engine Lineup

The current model uses a 2.5-liter four cylinder which delivers the goods. It is quite possible that the 2018 Nissan Frontier will feature the same unit but slightly improved. Power and torque should be improved as well as fuel economy. It is also possible Nissan will leverage with Cummins in order to create a new four-cylinder. Apart from the four-cylinders, the Japanese automaker will definitely offer at least one six-cylinder. At this point, we are unsure what V6 will be placed under the hood of the new Frontier but there are several candidates.

It is also possible that Nissan won’t change a 4.0-liter six-cylinder, it might only be revised. Many are hoping a 5.6-liter eight-cylinder unit used in the new Titan XD will become part of the lineup. This engine was upgraded several years ago it is equipped with the latest technology. When it comes to gears, both manual and automatic option will be offered. Drive mode is also optional. It will be either four-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough information to make any estimation on the fuel economy. Generally, trucks this size don’t have exceptional fuel consumption, but Nissan will definitely put some effort in this field.

Exterior

Two variants of the 2018 Nissan Frontier will be available: King Cab and Double Cab. The main differences between these two are size and doors. The Double Cab is larger and has four doors. The 2018 model should be slightly different than the present model. The grille is getting additional horizontal lines. Also, more parts are going to be chromed than before. LED lights are going to be part of the offer as well bed dividers, toolboxes, and extenders.

Interior

As you could see exterior won’t get any revolutionary changes. However, unlike the outer part interior is getting refreshments. We heard through the grapevine that door knobs will be enlarged and it will get larger buttons on the dashboard. Space depends on the variant. Double Cab will have more legroom and headroom at the back. It is going to be much more convenient than the King Cab. The coolest feature is the 360-degree Around-View Monitor camera system. This camera is equipped with the bird’s eye and enables easy maneuvering. However, only upper trims are getting this feature.

2018 Nissan Frontier Release Date and Price

The 2018 Nissan Frontier King Cab is coming in two different trims: S and SV trim, while the Double Cab will have one more trim. Their prices will differ and they will be in the range from $19,000 to $28,000. Due to some rumors, it is expected for new 2018 Frontier to hit the market in first half 201 or more likely until the of 2018.
