It is extremely difficult to find any info about the 2017 BMW Alpina B7. We consulted several sources, BMW official website and checked if there are any announcements. There is absolutely nothing about this vehicle on the official BMW page thus we had to focus on alternative sources. Luckily we could find several details about it. This car is particularly interesting since the production of M7 is (temporarily I guess) discontinued and they had to find a substitute. Alpina B7 is not the best car BMW offers, but it surely deserves our attention.

New Alpina B7 is an elegant sports car. Considering all aspects (including price) this car is a luxury vehicle with top-notch performances. BMW is a world leader in this category and they did their best to deliver a car that will set the world on fire. It is quite obvious that this concept takes after 7-series and many of you are probably thinking we uploaded photos of the 7-series. However, when you pay close attention you will see some distinctive features. It’s really difficult to summarize everything in a few paragraphs but tried to focus on the most important features.

There are different opinions on some features of the 2017 BMW Alpina B7 but pretty much everyone agrees on the engine. Reportedly, new B7 is going to be one of the fastest and most powerful cars that have ever come up out of BMW production facilities. It is most likely that a two-turbocharged 4.4l eight-cylinder will be placed under the bonnet. This unit comes with an output of 540 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque, but there are some hopes it can even reach 600 hp. In our opinion this expectation is unrealistic, but 540 hp is enough.

When it comes to performance, things are not that clear. There are some predictions, but they seem to be exaggerations. According to some sources, 0-60 mph time should be 3.6 seconds. We are not saying this is not possible, but it is very unlikely. On the other hand, top speed prediction of 193 mph is reasonable and, as far as we are concerned, more likely to happen. The transmission system is going to be an eight-speed automatic while there are no details regarding the driving system. Even though if some things appear not to be true, don’t doubt that Alpina B7 will be a high-performance vehicle.

As you have already seen 2017 BMW Alpina B7 resembles 7-series. This is a good choice, but many will disagree. There are several reasons for such opinion. First of all, this means Alpina B7 is going to have an appealing design which is going to attract customers. BMW also didn’t invest too much time and resources in creating a new design for this car. In addition, 7-series has a good reputation hence it will impact B7’s reputation as well. New Alpina B7 is going to have large spoilers, side skirts, an additional fender and probably a hidden rear spoiler.

Inside the cabin, there are going to be many similarities with the 7-series as well. We’re sure that infotainment system will be completely the same, but other features might face an update. It’s still not clear how the interior will look like since there is a lot of time before the release. Allegedly, there are going to be three different driving styles but we’ll cover them in our next review when we get more info about this car.

2017 BMW Alpina B7 is probably going to have its debut at the next Geneva Motor Show. However, it is unclear when it will hit the market. You shouldn’t expect a low price since this is a top-notch vehicle and it can even break the barrier of $100,000.
