New Ford Bronco Price, Release date

New Ford Bronco – Confirmed! The Ford Bronco is one of the first compact SUVs ever to be released on the market but the car has been discontinued two decades ago in order to make room for the Expedition. It now seems that Ford wants to resurrect the name with an all-new car. So far there have only been rumors about the future New Ford Bronco.

RELEASE DATE

However, a few weeks ago, a spokesman said that people will not lose their jobs at Ford’s plant because instead of the Focus they will make the Ranger and the Bronco. The two cars are expected to use the same platform and both of them are expected roughly at the same time. So far it seems that the Bronco might be revealed closer to the end of 2019 with its production model being expected in late 2024.

NEW FORD BRONCO PRICE AND PLATFORM

Like we said, both the Ford Bronco and the Ranger are expected to use a modified version of the chassis found in the current International Ranger. This will likely be made out of high strength steel and it will be modified in order to make the car safer at highway speeds. The New Ford Bronco, despite what some rumors said, will more than likely be released as a competitor for the 4Runner and the Wrangler.

Even though a two-door version might be released, the four-door version will likely represent the bulk of sales. Its price is currently unknown but it should cost anything between $25,000 and $30,000.

HOW WILL IT LOOK?

So far it seems that the New Ford Bronco might not be the car that was showcased in all those Internet renders. Instead, it might be based, at least lightly, on the Ford Territory, an Australian model which has been around for some time. This will be then modified extensively in order to give it a slightly more aggressive look while maintaining some of the design cues found in the original Bronco models. Some suggested a really boxy look but like we said, this is highly unlikely at this point.

NEW FORD BRONCO INTERIOR

Because the New Ford Bronco will be targeted specifically at the Wrangler, expect Ford to do anything possible to make it better than it. We do expect a more premium interior than in its competitor with tougher materials as well. Things such as dirt resistant upholstery, an easy to use interface as well as waterproof instruments should be offered, at least on some models. It is unlikely for them to offer anything too luxurious, especially since Ford has three other crossovers at this price point that could fill the role much better than the Bronco.

ENGINE OF NEW FORD BRONCO

With the competition being expected to offer some really great engines, the New Ford Bronco will more than likely at least match them. For starters, it seems that a base 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 engine might be standard. This should offer between 200 and 250 horsepower and up to 270 lb-ft of torque. Further up the range, a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 or even a 3.5 liter naturally aspirated V6 might be installed. Any of these will offer around 300 horsepower and any of them should be a great upgrade over the base 2-liter engine.

The star of the show will most likely be the diesel, though. This has been rumored for a very long time and it seems it will finally be offered. Unlike what some rumors said, the diesel is actually expected to be the 3.2 liters in-line 5 turbo which also powers the Transit where it makes 185 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The engine will likely be tweaked to offer a power and torque curve better suited for a crossover. A six-speed manual should be offered on certain models while Ford’s 10 speed automatic will most likely be the option.
